Rob White

Robert White passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, July 19, 2024 at the age of 61 years. 

Rob will be dearly missed by his wife of 32 years Marilyn White; Six children Kristi Christensen, of Calgary, Sarah White (Orvy) of Lethbridge, Charles White (Amanda) of Bradenton, FL, David White (Vanessa), of Calgary, Jessica Dahlke (Jacob) of Rexburg, ID and Rose Dawdy (Hunter) of Rexburg, ID; Four grandchildren Riley, Kyla, Maximus and Lorelai; His mother Irene; and three siblings Karen, Cathy and Ron, all of Calgary; and a large extended family.

Rob was predeceased by a son Caleb, father Henry White and brother Gerald.

Rob was born in Edmonton and as a self described Army Brat, moved around Canada until his family arrived in Calgary when he was age 14. He graduated from Central Memorial High School, following which he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Oakland California Mission for 2 years. When Rob returned home, he had a window washing company which helped finance his education. Rob pursued his accounting education by attending NAIT, receiving his CGA designation in 1992. During that same year, he married Marilyn and settled deeper roots in Calgary. Rob had his own successful accounting firm specializing in small business support and tax planning. He also helped many young people who were interested in accounting explore their career options and helped train them while working in his business, including many women in need. He also taught accounting at SAIT for 10 years. Rob's leadership shone in his years on the Board of Directors for the CGA and also in the Rosscarrack Community Association. Rob's devotion to the Church was evident in his substantial service including Ward Clerk, Executive Secretary, Stake Financial Clerk, Ward Mission Leader among many others. Rob loved hiking, the outdoors, chopping wood, traveling (including cruises) and many planned adventures. Rob was generous and kind, helping many in financial difficulties. Rob's greatest love was his family where he was a wonderful husband and father. 

A Funeral Service will be held for Robert at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Coach Hill Chapel (996 Strathcona Dr. SW, Calgary) on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 11:00 am. Cremation will follow at the Foothills Crematorium.
