With deepest sadness we share with you the passing of our dad Bob (Robert) Williams. He passed away on Saturday January 4, 2025, at the age of 94.
Dad was born December 1, 1930, in Calgary Alberta to Richard and Jean Williams.
He attended Western Canada High School. He had a wide variety of jobs until he joined The Calgary Fire Department in 1952. He held many ranks within the department finishing his career as a District Chief in 1987. Dad resided as the Union President for Local 255 for many years. He continued as a consultant into his retirement.
He has been an active member of the LDS Church for 50 plus years.
During Mom and Dads retirement they did extensive travel for many years.
Dad is survived by his daughter, Karen (Brad); daughter-in-law, Marlene (Garry); son, Dale (Linda); and daughter, Shawna (Paul); his grandchildren, Diane (Terry), Allie (Jeff), Jenelle (Brent), Peter (Michelle), Josh, Jessica (Dave), Jarrett (Steph) and Joel; his great-grandchildren, Brandon (Archana) Breanna (Daniel), Kassi (Sophie), Chelsea, Grayson, Avery, Olivia, Ryan and Aoife.
Dad was predeceased by his wife, Loretta Williams; parents, Richard and Jean Williams; his sister, Doreen Macfarlane his sister, Joanne Shelley; his son, Garry Williams; as well as many other friends and family.
Dad’s Celebration of Life will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Tipton Road Church (5927 Tipton Road NW, Calgary) on Saturday January 11, 2025, at 11:00 am. To be followed by a Graveside Service at Queen’s Park Cemetery (3219 4 St NW, Calgary).
If friends so desire Memorial Tributes may be made directly to Calgary Burn Unit and The Calgary Humane Society.
