Rosanna Jackson

August 20, 1932 — September 10, 2016

Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother Rosanna Jackson passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 10, 2016 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 84 years. Rosanna’s memory will be cherished by her devoted husband, Charles “Harvey”; loving children, Colleen and Don (Susan); and her grandson, Marc (Lindsay), and great grandchildren, Taylor and Kylie, who she truly adored.

Born in Edmonton, AB to parents Pierre and Violet Frigon, Rosanna was 8 of 18 children. She was the epitome of a big sister, always able to answer questions and help her younger siblings; leaving them with the sentiment, “She made us stronger.” Rosanna was talented and resourceful. She had the gift of gab; the ability to talk with anyone of any age group.

Rosanna and Harvey created a lifetime of memories. Proudly raising their children, Rosanna and Harvey continued their journey throughout the years which included the enjoyment of the outdoors – fishing, hunting, camping, snowmobiling, and skiing. She loved to travel, whether by motorcycle, car, air, or boat from Alaska to the Panama Canal and Vancouver Island to the East Coast.

Her family remained her constant fountain of pride and love. From adventures with Harvey, to milestones with her children, right down to moments of delicious delight with treats from Nana’s pockets for Taylor and Kylie, Rosanna left a legacy of little moments to be remembered as precious memories.

We will never forget your words and deeds that touched our lives, and the lives of our dear family and friends. Your love has been immeasurable. Mom always said, “Our family is small enough that our arms can go around and hug one another.” Though we may no longer get to hold one another, we will always hold you dearly in our hearts.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the compassionate staff at Unit 38 – the Peter Lougheed Hospital and the Agape Hospice for the care and attention they provided, ensuring Rosanna was at peace. A Celebration of Rosanna’s Life will take place at a later date.
