Rose Gushaty passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at the age of 94 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 70 years Metro; children Brian (Katherine) Gushaty, of Edmonton, AB, Cheryl (Lloyd) Newlands, of Phoenix, AZ, Bruce (May) Tanner, of Kelowna, BC, and Blaine (Angie) Gushaty of Calgary, AB; grandchildren Adam (Katie), Mika (Alex), Amanda (Richard), Shane, Nicholas, Dana, Nicole, Jud and Mic; great grandchildren Karis, Lillian and Lucas; brother Ernie (Betty) Gegolic; and many more family and friends.
Rose was born and raised in Mundare, AB. After graduating from High School she moved to Edmonton where she renewed her friendship with her childhood friend Metro and after a short courtship they were married. When Metro finished University, they moved to Taber for a few years, back to Edmonton and then to Calgary where they made their home in the community of Cambrian Heights for over 60 years. Metro and Rose were blessed with 4 children and Rose was the ultimate mother and homemaker. When the children were grown, Rose began working part time at Sears in the drapery department, which she enjoyed very much. She also loved traveling and would jump on the opportunity to accompany Metro on his golfing trips or her sisters on their travels. She also enjoyed cooking and Sunday dinners were a family favourite. Rose’s greatest love was her family where she dedicated her time and energy.
Rose’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and staff of Bowcrest Nursing Home for the exceptional care she received. A family graveside service will be held for Rose at Evergreen Cemetery (Edmonton, AB). Messages of condolence may be forwarded to the family at
