Samy Bacagan Bangsoyao, 47, passed away peacefully on the 14th of December 2019 at Peter Lougheed Hospital, surrounded by his loving friends and families.
Samy is survived by his wife Dina (Cherry) Bangsoyao of Calgary; his sister Delia Bangsoyao & brother Adonis Bangsoyao of Calgary, Alberta; his two brothers, Alex & Ariel Bangsoyao of Philippines; his mother Hermenia Bangsoyao of the Philippines; and many friends and relatives both in the Philippines and here in Calgary.
Samy was predeceased by his sister, Lita; his brother, Benjie; and his father Samy Bangsoyao Sr.
Samy was born and raised in Buguias, Benguet, Philippines. Had his Criminology Degree at University of Baguio. He worked in Hong Kong 1997-1998 and later on move to Korea 1999-2002. After 5 years of working as an OFW, he then went back home to the Philippines to start his own piggery business and actively volunteered in Pentecost Church during these years. Through friends, Samy met the love of his life Dina and got married 2003. After the marriage, Dina relocated and started her career here in Calgary, leaving Samy back home to continue his business for the mean time. In 2005, Dina finally was able to bring Samy here to start their journey as couples. From that on, they’ve created and shared unforgettable moments together, with friend and relatives.
Samy seems shy and introvert to most people but known to be jolly, fun and playful with kids. His kindness and loving personality will be missed by all.
His Visitation/Service will be held at Pierson Funeral Home from 5pm – 10pm on Friday, Dec 20th, 2019
