Shaun Alan Caskenette

It is with great sadness that the family of Shaun Caskenette announce his sudden passing on Friday, June 4, 2021 at the age of 40. Shaun was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta. He was the only child for Margaret and Alan Caskenette.

My life and focus was my son Shaun, he was and still is the best thing that ever happened to me. As a single mother, I loved, comforted, protected, supported and respected my son from the day he was born until he was an adult. I was so excited to meet and love this wonderful gift from God. While I was pregnant, I could feel the positive energy that flowed inside of me. This energy was of Love, Joy, Peace and Happiness. It felt so nourishing to my soul. I knew he was going to be my angel here on earth.

Shaun was a loving, caring, selfless, compassionate, supportive, dependable, loyal and a respectful person, he had a special love for children, sometimes he would babysit for his family and friends. He was always willing to help others, even if his life was in danger. I can remember a time when I was very sick, he came dressed up in doctor’s attire. He cooked, cleaned, and fed me until I felt better. He is my hero, my rock and my strength.

Shaun was a loyal fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, he loved them; you would think they were his family. It will never be the same watching the Football games. There was never a day that went by that he didn’t express his love for me. Whenever he went out he would call or text to make sure that I was okay.

My son, your legacy of the agape love will live on, in my life as well as your family and friends lives. You will surely be missed by your mother, grandfather, aunties, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends. You were always a caring and humble individual with a contagious laugh that we will all remember for a lifetime.

My son this is not the end, it’s the beginning of a new life. Enjoy paradise until we meet again. I love you!

A Public Viewing will be held for Shaun at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Sunday, July 18, 2021 from 3:00pm-5:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the same location on Monday, July 19, 2021 at 11:00 am with burial to follow at Rocky View Garden of Peace Cemetery.
