Sophal Horng passed away on Friday November 15, 2019 at the age of 61 years.
‘Sophie’ was born in Cambodia to Sy Peng Khun and Hak Kim Sorn. She was one of 6 siblings and is pre-deceased by all except one of her siblings.
Before settling in Alberta, she had lived in France and Montreal.
Sophie will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 42 years, Kim Son; children, Stephanie, Kimberley and Tim; grandchildren, Tristan, Lucy, Tayla and Kaeto.
Sophie was friendly and sociable. She loved to be involved in education and learning. She worked at the library as well as a teacher’s aid which she enjoyed the most. In her spare time, she kept fit by swimming and was also skilled at crochet.
A Funeral Service will be held for Sophie at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Thursday November 21, 2019 at 12:30pm. Visitation will begin at 11:00am.
Graveside Service will take place after the funeral ceremony at Rockyview Garden Of Peace Cemetery (16th Avenue and Garden Road/100 Street NE, Calgary)
