Suzanne Lee West, 52, joined her dog Amber peacefully on March 6th, 2018 at her home in Calgary, Alberta after a short battle with brain cancer. She was born on April 26th, 1965 to Gordon and Karen West in Cardston, AB, Canada.
She leaves an unfillable hole in the hearts of family and friends. Suzanne is survived by her parents, Gordon and Karen West of Calgary; sister, Kathy (Costaud) Rwamuningi of Calgary; brother Greg (Monique) of Nightingale, AB; several loving nieces and nephews; and her best friend and dog Rhea who never left her side.
Suzanne was known as an entrepreneur, philanthropist, warrior, engineer, CEO, sister, daughter and friend but most of all as an inspiration to those around her. She was driven by a vision where we can see people and industry change for the betterment of our planet. Always seeing the best in people, Suzanne championed the underdog, helped those in need and freely gave. While she loved this earth, she was not scared to leave it, knowing that it was just part of a bigger journey.
An insatiable desire to do more, inspire greatness in others and to never settle with average, Suzanne welcomed challenges and solving problems while always looking after those around her. She lit a fire in all of us and asked us to “Remember we are capable of such greatness, but we have to be brave and do the things that the world needs us to do.”
Suzanne, on behalf of your parents, sister, brother, Imaginea family, charities and every soul you touched, you will be missed beyond measure and your light will burn brightly in each of us.
A Celebration of Suzannes life will be held at Country Hills Crematorium (11995 – 16 Street NE, Calgary) on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 2:00 pm. While Suzanne loves flowers, she requested that those desiring, make a donation to the charity of their choice in her memory. Make someone or somewhere in the world a better place.
