Wayne Leo Lloyd

December 17, 1935 — June 23, 2012

LLOYD Wayne Leo 1935 – 2012 Wayne Leo Lloyd, beloved husband of Eleanor Lloyd, passed away peacefully June 23, 2012 at the age of 76 after a courageous battle with cancer. As well as his wife Eleanor, Wayne will be dearly missed by their two sons Darren Lloyd and Paul Lloyd; son-in-law Dr. Ian Kroll; one grandson Colin Lloyd, all of Calgary; one brother Ken Lloyd (Sherry) of Raymond, AB; good friends David Palmer and Ron Nastiuk; and Eleanor’s family the Davis’s. Wayne was predeceased by a daughter Sharlene. Wayne was born in Lethbridge and raised in Fort Assiniboine, AB. In 1956, after a brief return to southern Alberta he moved to Calgary and in 1958 married his sweetheart Eleanor, where they settled to raise their family. Wayne worked for Telus for 33 years and following his retirement found enjoyment golfing and fishing in the summer and bowling in the winter. He loved camping and spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his helpful, kind, generous nature, devotion to his Church, and love for his family. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 28 at 11:00 am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2021 17 Avenue SW. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 29 at 1:00 pm in the Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge, AB. The family would like to thank Dr. Julian Ratti and the Rockyview hospital staff; also Drs. Becky Wiens, Anna Voeuk, Brian Stewart, and the Sarcee hospice staff for their dedicated compassionate care. The family are very thankful that Wayne was able to enjoy a good quality of life to the end of his illness. Messages of condolence may be forwarded to the family at www.piersons.ca.
