Wes Klinger passed away at his Calgary home on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at the age of 76 years.
Wes will be dearly missed by his wife Christine (nee Jenkins); their sons Jeff (Cheryl) and Jonathan (Erin) also of Calgary; his two brothers, Wilf of Kelowna and Norm of Saskatoon; his three sisters, Joy of Saskatoon and Edna and Ella of Regina and many other relatives and friends. Wes was predeceased by his sister, Marg of White Rock.
Wes was born in Wynyard, Saskatchewan and raised nearby in Jansen. After school, he briefly left the farm for Calgary where he met his future wife, Christine. After returning and taking over the family farm, he ran it until the early 1990’s before the family moved to Lanigan where he began a second career as a security guard at the local potash mine. He retired about 10 years ago allowing him and Christine to move to Calgary and be closer to their kids and grandkids (Addyson, Ryan, Grayson and Owen).
Moving to Calgary also allowed him to further pursue his passion for golf as well as spend much time outdoors assisting one of the boys in their part-time landscaping business. They settled into a close knit community in the condo where they lived and will be missed by many of the residents. He enjoyed many miles of walks around the community lake and several condo games nights. As an avid sports fan, he faithfully cheered for the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and we will dearly miss him.
A Funeral Service to commemorate Wes’s life will be held at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 11:00 am. Attendance will be by invitation only.
