Bill Fraser passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at the age of 59 years.
Bill drove taxi for over 30 years in Calgary, many of those years spent driving a wheelchair accessible van. He enjoyed driving around Calgary and providing assistance to physically and developmentally challenged individuals and was always patient and understanding. Bill, or Billy as some knew him, preferred to live life for the experiences rather than the acquisition of material possessions. He had many friends. He was always willing to help a friend in need, generous with others while frugal when it came to himself. In his younger years, Bill enjoyed playing a variety of sports. He was on a baseball team and played hockey regularly. All through his life, he was a music aficionado and a concert fanatic! He had an eclectic taste, but especially loved Classic Rock.
Bill is survived by his sister, Lorna Jane Fraser of Westmount, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and nephew, Liam Wilson. He was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Mary Fraser.
A Celebration Of Life will be held for Bill at Pierson’s Forest Lawn Chapel (4121 – 17 Avenue SE, Calgary) on Thursday March 7, 2019 from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm.
