William Brooke Vance

William Vance passed away peacefully on Saturday December 7, 2019 at the age of 58 years. He is pre-deceased by his parents, Bette and Bill and his daughter, Melissa. He will be lovingly remembered by his partner and soul mate, Tracey Fagan; daughter, Crystal Janine Vance and granddaughter, Payton Gabriel from Nelson, BC; siblings, Bethan (Joe) Robertson of Nova Scotia; special friends, Diane Fagan, Dick Gardner and Andrea Barnes all of Calgary; Austin, Alicia & Isabell (who knew him as ‘Papa Brooke’) Ekstrom of Edmonton; and many loving cousins throughout Canada. Brooke was raised and educated in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. He was a fierce goalie which started his life-long love of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Brooke moved west as a young man. He fell in love with Calgary and stayed until the time of his passing. Brooke enjoyed time with his family and many close friends, gardening and woodworking. Upon his terminal diagnosis, he lived his remaining days with joy and determination to live life to the fullest. Brooke will be forever loved and missed by the love of his life, Tracey; sister, Bethan and many extended family and friends. Brooke volunteered at Bingo Barn, Calgary Film Festival, Theater Calgary and the Mental Health Society. Brooke’s family wish to thank the many staff and volunteers at Dulcina Hospice, Giovanni, Lisa, Jaycee, Tracy. You are angels on Earth! Until we meet again, dear Brooke. Fly with the angels. A Celebration of Brooke’s Life is being planned for a later date.
