It is with great sadness that the family of Ken (William Kenneth) Andrews announce his passing on March 5, 2022. He passed away peacefully at home.
Ken was born in Chicoutimi Quebec, to Bill and Betty Andrews (both deceased) and lived in several cities as a young child as he was the son of an Airforce Veteran. Ken was the oldest brother to 5 siblings: Bryan(deceased), Kevin, Keith, Doug, Drina-Lynn and 2 foster sisters. Although Ken never married, he was a caring and supportive Uncle to 12 nephews and nieces, Jeremy, Nathaniel, Nicholas, Angus, Alexandra, Danion, Cameron, .
The school aged years of Ken were spent in the Comox Valley where he graduated from Georges P Vanier Secondary School. He went on to attend College/University and studied Computer Sciences.
Ken had a passion for computers, science and science fiction which led him to be a regular participant at events such as Cosplay, Westercon and Comicon. Ken was also an avid motorcycle rider, riding since he was in his teens. He owned several motorbike and trikes over the years and had easily logged over 600,000kms in Canada and the US.
Most of his working life was spent working with and on computers and was very dedicated to his work. Although he was a relatively private person, there was nothing he wouldn’t do for someone if asked.
He resided in the Calgary area for the past 35+ years and loved the city. He will be greatly missed by his family and all that knew him. A memorial will be held in his hometown in the future and anyone wishing to send condolences can do so through the following email:
