It is with great sadness that the Bearspaw family announce the unexpected passing of our Matriarch, Winnie Bearspaw on Sunday June 13, 2021 at the age of 75 years.
Winnie received her education through residential schooling. She was a survivor. Winnie accomplished a lot throughout her life. She worked at various positions for Stoney Tribal Administration for 35 years. She was also a child care worker, NADAP and Bearspaw Membership until she retired. Winnie was a humble and wise person. Her passion was helping people. She valued her traditional and spiritual beliefs and loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much.
Winnie leaves behind her husband of 55 years, Ernie Labelle; her children, Sindy, Dustin, Mandy (Garrett), Todd (Chris), Carrie and Rosie; sisters, Brenda (Morley), Charlene (Clarence), Geraldine (John), Delphine, Sharlene Robbins, Julia Johnson; brothers, Lloyd, Gilbert, (Florence), Lorianne (Lawrence) and Bernadine; adopted brothers, Paul, Derrick and Floyd Daniels; adopted sons, Lyle Labelle & Ken Daniels. Winnie was predeceased by her parents, Roger & Gladys Bearspaw; grandparents, Hansen and Eunice Bearspaw; daughter, Cheryl Bearspaw; son, Andrew Bearspaw; sisters, Beverly Daniels, Joyce, Gwen, Evelina & Lily; brother, Marty; numerous nieces & nephews; in-laws, Louie and Katie Labelle, brothers-in-law, Clifford Manule, Harvy Labelle; sisters-in-law, Evelyn, Rena and Pauline Labelle.
Wake Service will be held at the residence of Ernie Labelle in Morley on Friday June 18 starting at 1:00pm. Funeral Service will be at the same location on Saturday June 19 at 1:00pm. Graveside Service will follow at Bearspaw Cemetery, Morley and Family Feast will be back at Ernie’s residence after the graveside.
