Jim Woodroffe passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2022 in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 60. Jim was a true Cowtown born and raised Calgarian. He was the second born son to Phyllis and Jack Woodroffe.
Jim loved hockey and was an avid Calgary Flames fan. He also loved to watch the Calgary Stampeders.
He enjoyed watching several different television programs but his favourites were old time television shows like Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons, and Corner Gas. Jim worked at the Revera Chateau Renoir in Calgary and enjoyed his time spent there meeting people and working with Chris. Jim liked going to Tim Horton’s to get a coffee and sit in his truck and listen to his favorite country singer Johnny Cash. He enjoyed connecting with others in his family, especially receiving phone calls from Linda Dowdeswell. Jim always liked to hear what his nephew, Sean, and his niece, Shae-Lyn, were doing.
Jim had a long-time friend, well you could say a lifetime-roommate named Evelyn. She was like an older sister that he never had. Jim’s heart broke when she had to move to a Seniors home. Jim loved going to visit with his mom when he could, and Mom would make Jim have Tea and cookies, laughing Jim would drink the tea even though he didn’t really like tea but it made mom happy. Jim really enjoyed going on road trips with his good friend Rob MacAulay and brother Jerry.
Jim is survived by his mother Phyllis Woodroffe; brothers, Jerry Woodroffe, Roger (Katrina) Woodroffe; niece Shae-Lyn Woodroffe; and long-time friend, Evelyn Paterson. Jim was predeceased by his father, Jack Woodroffe; and nephew, Sean Dowdeswell.
